Ketlen Vieira    UFC    Bantamweight
Vieira will face Cat Zingano on March 3 in Las Vegas at UFC 222, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Vieira will bring her perfect record into this fight after besting Sara McMann via submission (arm triangle) in Round 2 at UFC 215 in September. That was just her third bout in the UFC, but she maintains an undefeated 9-0 mark professionally. On the other side, Zingano will make just her second appearance in the arena since February of 2015, and is seeking her first win since September of 2014. During her most recent fight, she lost to Julianna Pena via unanimous decision at UFC 200 in July.
Cat Zingano    UFC    Bantamweight
Zingano will take on Ketlen Vieira at UFC 222 on March 3 in Las Vegas, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Zingano will enter having lost her last two bouts, including a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Julianna Pena in July. That was just her first fight since February of 2015, and she will look to turn her fortunes around in Las Vegas against a worthy opponent. Vieira holds a 9-0 professional record, and is 3-0 since joining the UFC last year. Most recently, she topped Sara McMann via submission (arm triangle) at UFC 215 in Edmonton in September.
Cyril Asker    UFC    Heavyweight
The UFC is seeking a replacement for Asker's fight in Shanghai on November 25 after James Mulheron was flagged for a potential U.S. Anti-Doping Agency violation Saturday, Alexander K. Lee reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Mulheron was immediately removed from the card during the midst of this announcement, which will give the UFC only seven days to find a replacement for Asker. It may be difficult to find someone this late in the process, but the promotion is holding out hope that Asker's fight will not go by the wayside. More should be known within the next couple days.
James Mulheron    UFC    Heavyweight
Mulheron was removed from his bout against Cyril Asker at UFC Fight Night 123 in Shanghai on November 25 due to a potential U.S. Anti-Doping Agency violation, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

This violation stems from an out-of-competition sample that was collected just last week, and will cost Mulheron a chance to get back on track after losing to Justin Willis during his UFC debut in July. The announcement will cause headaches for the UFC, as the promotion only has seven days to find a replacement for Mulheron. Moving forward, the USADA will handle the case involving "the Juggernaut."
Talita Bernardo    UFC    Bantamweight
Bernardo will meet Irene Aldana on January 14 in St. Louis, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Bernardo and Aldana will each be seeking their first victory in the promotion since joining the UFC. Aldana enters having recently lost to Katlyn Chookagian via split decision in April, and holds a 7-4 career record. For Bernardo, she was defeated by Marion Reneau via TKO (punches) in the third round at UFC Fight Night 115 in Rotterdam in September.
Irene Aldana    UFC    Bantamweight
Aldana will take on Talita Bernardo in St. Louis on January 14, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Aldana and Bernardo will compete to see which fighter will win her first UFC bout by the time they face off in January. After dropping her debut to Leslie Smith last December, Aldana was bested by Katlyn Chookagian via split decision in April. On the other side, Bernardo was defeated by Marion Reneau via TKO (punches) in Rotterdam in early September.
Cris Cyborg    UFC    Featherweight
Cyborg signed a new contract with the UFC on Friday, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.

Fantasy Analysis

This agreement comes on the heels of the announcement that Cyborg will face Holly Holm at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas. There was real concern that she wouldn't return to the promotion after being granted a boxing license by the state of California in early September, and especially after voicing displeasure over the negotiations during the past couple months. That now appears to be in the rear-view mirror following Cyborg's new deal, although there hasn't been any word as to how many fights are on the contract.
Chris Weidman    UFC    Middleweight
Weidman (thumb) has been out since his win over Kelvin Gastelum in July but is hoping to return to action in early 2018, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Weidman gained a much needed win over Gastelum in Long Island this summer, but suffered a dislocated left thumb in the process. While he was initially told that he'd be back to fighting in six weeks following his surgery in September, he has yet to completely heal. The timeline for his return has been pushed back to early next year.
Holly Holm    UFC    Bantamweight
Holm will face Cris Cyborg in a featherweight title fight at UFC 219 on December 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fantasy Analysis

Holm has decided to take on the undisputed UFC featherweight champion in Cris Cyborg. After much debate over finances and the possibility of substantial punishment given at the hands of Cyborg, the she has finally accepted the bout. She'll be moving up a weight class for this matchup, so will be at a disadvantage power-wise. However, the two match up well in both height and reach, so if "The Preachers Daughter" can keep moving and utilize her kickboxing skills to keep Cyborg out, she has a chance to take the belt.
Marcelo Guimaraes    UFC    Middleweight
Guimaraes (knee), who has been out since 2016 and undergone multiple surgeries since, is hoping to rejoin the sport in March, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Guimaraes hasn't seen action in 20 months due to a multiple knee surgeries; after undergoing his first surgery, septic arthritis forced another one. Twenty days in the hospital led to his leg atrophying and another injury. After a long time off that involved starting his own American Top Team gym in Brazil, the fighter is itching to get back in the Octagon. Guimaraes hopes to return in March 2018 as a welterweight after spending time as a middleweight.
Cris Cyborg    UFC    Featherweight
Cyborg and Holly Holm have agreed to face off at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fantasy Analysis

After much speculation over the past several weeks, UFC 219 has finally inked Cyborg and Holm to headline their Dec. 30 event. Cyborg will look to defend her featherweight belt after defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 in July. Holm knocked out Bethe Correia in her most recent fight, ending a three-fight losing streak.
Fabricio Werdum    UFC    Heavyweight
Werdum has been charged with common assault and is set to appear in court on December 13, following his incident with Colby Covington in Australia on Wednesday, Damon Martin of MMA Weekly reports.

Fantasy Analysis

There have been conflicting reports as to what transpired between the two fighters, but it appears as though Werdum attacked Covington and once they were separated, Werdum proceeded to throw a boomerang at him as well, which was caught on tape. The UFC issued a statement that an internal investigation was underway as soon as Wednesday night, but the local police already charged Werdum with common assault, which could carry a maximum sentence of two years. In the short term, Werdum has a fight against Marcin Tybura at UFC Sydney on Nov. 19, and there has been no indication of any changes to that bout stemming from this situation.
Francimar Barroso    UFC    Light Heavyweight
Barroso will face Gian Villante at UFC 220 on January 20 in Boston, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Barroso returns to the arena following a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Aleksander Rakic at UFC Fight Night 115 in early September, which followed his victory over Darren Stewart in March. On the other side of the light heavyweight clash is VIllante, who brings in a 15-9 career record, but suffered losses during both of his fights this calendar year. He was beaten by Shogun Rua and Patrick Cummings during both of his bouts in 2017, and will be looking to get back on track in Boston.
Gian Villante    UFC    Light Heavyweight
Villante will take on Francimar Barroso at UFC 220 in Boston on January 20, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Villante is looking to right the ship after suffering defeats to Patrick Cummins in July, and Shogun Rua back in March. Prior to those bouts, he defeated Saparbek Safarov via TKO (strikes) last December, which means he will end 2017 without a victory. On the other side, Barroso enters with a 19-6 professional record, and comes in having lost his previous fight via unanimous decision to Aleksandar Rakic in Rotterdam in early September.
Juliana Lima    UFC    strawweight
Lima will face Randa Markos in a strawweight fight at UFC Fight Night 126 on January 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fantasy Analysis

Lima (9-4) has dropped two of her last three bouts and is looking to jump back on the winning track after tapping out to Tecia Torres in July. However, she showcased a rounded skillset in her win over J.J. Aldrich last Dec. and took the Torres fight on short notice, so there's hope for this matchup. "Ju Thai" has a two-inch reach advantage over Markos and boasts a 70 percent takedown defense.
