Stipe Miocic    UFC    Heavyweight
Miocic believes he will return to the cage in December or January, Peter Carroll of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

The current UFC heavyweight champion began contract negotiations following his second title defense over Junior dos Santos. Since defeating dos Santos and Alistair Overeem, Miocic has been arguing for better compensation before he accepts another fight. He hasn't seen action since May but says talk continues and he's aiming to rejoin the fight scene at the end of the year or early in 2018. Miocic's next fight to retain his belt could lead to a new heavyweight title defense record -- he is tied with the current record at two.
David Branch    UFC    Middleweight
Branch received a 45-day medical suspension from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission following his UFC Fight Night loss to Luke Rockhold on Saturday, MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Branch started the fight with Luke Rockhold strong. He was aggressive and landed 36 total strikes in the first round. However, he made the mistake of allowing Rockhold to bring him to the ground in Round 2. Rockhold landed 34 of his 43 significant strikes during the second frame from the mat, which led to a stop called by the referee at 4:05 and a submission loss for the middleweight. Branch was given a medical suspension of 45 days following the fight, pending clearance from a physician.
Zu Anyanwu    UFC    Heavyweight
Anyanwu was given an indefinite medical suspension from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission following his UFC Fight Night loss to Justin Ledet on Saturday, MMAFighting.com reports

Fantasy Analysis

Anyanwu agreed to fight Justin Ledet on short notice and hung with him during his UFC debut. In what was essentially a kickboxing match, Zu landed 37 significant strikes compared to Ledet's 36 but wasn't able to pull out the victory. Anyanwu sustained a potential right eye injury during the back and forth that he is required to have cleared by a physician. Until he has done so, the PSAC has suspended him from action indefinitely.
Matthew Lopez    UFC    Bantamweight
Lopez will fight Raphael Assuncao at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 11, Damon Martin of MMAWeekly.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Lopez (10-1) has won his last two fights, notably defeating Johnny Eduardo by TKO in June. Lopez's opponent, Assuncao (25-5), has also won his last two fights, claiming victories over Aljamain Sterling and former World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes.
Raphael Assuncao    UFC    Bantamweight
Assuncao will face off against Matthew Lopez during UFC Fight Night on Nov. 11, Damon Martin of MMAWeekly.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Assuncao, who is 25-5, has been victorious during his two most recent bouts against Aljamain Sterling and former World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes. His opponent, Lopez, is 10-1. He's collected two wins in a row, notably defeating Johnny Eduardo by TKO in June.
Michel Quinones    UFC    Lightweight
Quinones will face off against Sage Northcutt in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 11, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Quinones, who is 8-2, most recently lost his UFC debut by TKO to Jared Gordon. Northcutt, who is 3-0 inside the Octagon as a lightweight, has yet to fight in 2017. His only two losses have come at the 170-pound welterweight limit.
Sage Northcutt    UFC    Lightweight
Northcutt will face off against Michel Quinones in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 11, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.

Fantasy Analysis

The bout will mark Northcutt's first matchup of 2017. He's lost two of his five UFC fights -- both defeats coming at welterweight. Outside the Octagon, he's 8-2 as a lightweight. His opponent, Quinones, is 8-2 and most recently lost to Jared Gordon by TKO in his UFC debut.
Marlon Vera    UFC    Bantamweight
Vera will fight John Lineker at UFC Sao Paulo on Oct. 28, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Vera is coming off a three-fight winning streak, notably defeating Brian Kelleher by first-round submission and Brad Picket by third-round knockout earlier in the year. His opponent, Lineker, will be returning to the octagon for the first time since fracturing his jaw last December in a loss to T.J. Dillashaw. Prior to that, he was on a six-fight winning streak.
John Lineker    UFC    Bantamweight
Lineker (jaw) will face off against Marlon Vera during UFC's event in Sao Paulo on Oct. 28, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Oct. 28 will mark Lineker's first time back in the octagon since fracturing his jaw during UFC 207 against T.J. Dillashaw last December. He had won six bouts in a row prior to that loss. His opponent, Vera, is currently on a three-fight winning streak. He notably defeated Brian Kelleher by first-round submission and Brad Pickett by third-round knockout earlier in 2017.
Thiago Alves    UFC    Welterweight
Alves' withdrawal from his scheduled UFC Pittsburgh matchup against Mike Perry was not injury related, and he hopes to be rebooked by December, MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Alves withdrew from his welterweight matchup with Mike Perry the week of the fight, and the reasons were initially undisclosed. The Brazilian later released a statement via his personal Instagram account that clarified he stayed behind with his family in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Many fighters in the area left for the event early, and while Alves stayed back, travel complications prevented him from getting a later flight out. Despite losing the scheduled bout (and the accompanying pay day), the good news is that Alves isn't dealing with any injuries, and intends to be booked again within the next few months. There shouldn't be much love lost from UFC brass, given the circumstances, as Alves is a veteran of the promotion since 2005. He recently snapped a two-fight losing streak with a UFC 210 victory over Patrick Cote and is looking to find his way back into the 170-pound rankings.
Alexander Volkanovski    UFC    Lightweight
Volkanovski will face Jeremy Kennedy in a lightweight contest at UFC Fight Night 121 on November 18 in Sydney, Alexander Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Volkanovski hasn't lost a fight since 2013. He maintains an 15-1 record (2-0 UFC) with nine KO/TKOs. While he enters the cage five inches shorter than his opponent, he makes up the height difference by matching Kennedy's reach at 71 inches. Thus far, Volkanovski has shown strong striking skills, but his 85 percent takedown defense may be the most significant part of his skillset since Kennedy has relied heavily on takedowns in his UFC career.
Jeremy Kennedy    UFC    Lightweight
Kennedy will face Alexander Volkanovski in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night 121 on November 18 in Sydney, Alexander Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Kennedy has relied on takedowns followed by ground control thus far in his UFC career. While his three victories with the promotion have ended in unanimous decision, he has proven that he can take people to the floor. He lands an average seven takedowns each match and will have to be careful when working his way in on Volkanovski, who has strong striking. At 25 years old, Kennedy has racked up an 11-0 record (3-0 UFC).
Joe Soto    UFC    Bantamweight
Soto will face Brett Johns in a bantamweight fight at TUF 26 Finale on December 1 in Las Vegas, Alexander Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Soto is a former Bellator champion that is beginning to gain traction in the UFC. The bantamweight started his UFC career with three losses but has turned it around with a three-fight winning streak. He will enter the Octagon against the undefeated Johns with an 18-5 record (3-3 UFC) that includes 10 submission wins.
Brett Johns    UFC    Bantamweight
Johns will face Joe Soto in a bantamweight bout at TUF 26 Finale on December 1 in Las Vegas, Alexander Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Johns maintains a 14-0 record (2-0 UFC) but has had trouble getting UFC fights to stick. While "The Pikey" has already had three fights scheduled this year, but due to injuries, only one actually took place (a unanimous decision over Albert Morales). Johns has remained healthy throughout the process and will be anxious to gain another win to add to his undefeated record.
Ovince Saint Preux    UFC    Light Heavyweight
Saint-Preux will now face Yushin Okami in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 117 on September 22 in Saitama, Japan, Alexander Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Saint-Preux was scheduled to take on "Shogun" Rua in the main event in Japan, but Rua has since been forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. He has been replaced by one-time middleweight title challenger Yushin Okami. Both southpaws are experienced fighters, but "OSP" has an eight-inch reach advantage and has been facing top opponents. Saint-Preux is currently 20-10 overall (14-6 UFC).
