Ribas tested positive for ostarine, an illegal substance under the USADA, and has been temporarily suspended, Shaun Al-Shatti of MMAFighting.com reports.
Ribas was pulled off her UFC debut against Juliana Lima due to a potential doping violation. It has been confirmed that she tested positive for ostarine and was placed on temporary suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Monday. Ribas claims no knowledge of how the drug entered her system and there is speculation that she possibly took a tainted supplement -- a defense that has succeeded for other fighters in the past. Investigation on the source of the drug, as well as any official suspension, continues.

Fantasy AnalysisRibas was scheduled to face Juliana Lima in her UFC debut in July, but was pulled from the fight after a sample collected in June was flagged by the USADA for a possible violation. She has been replaced by Tecia Torres, another top strawweight contender. Ribas must now await USADA litigation, and unless she has a reasonable explanation, could be facing a suspension of up to two years.
Fantasy AnalysisRibas had an out-of-competition sample collected on June 7, one month prior to her July 7 event. The UFC is looking at finding a replacement for Ribas, and the Nevada Athletic Commission will make the final decision after the USADA completes its investigation. More information will come out prior to the July 7 event.
Fantasy AnalysisRibas has been in the MMA since 2014 when she won the IMMAF World Championship. Since then, the 23-year-old jiu-jitsu and judo black belt has racked up a 6-1 record with three TKOs and only one fight that went the distance.
