Young was waived by the Roughriders after news of his torn hamstring broke, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

It's tough to say that Young making the team would be a long shot, but he faced an uphill battle already with a lot of young talent at quarterback in Saskatchewan. He never did get the chance to prove himself in a CFL preseason game, and being banged up at the age of 34, it's tough to see that as a possibility in the future either.

Young will be out 4-to-6 weeks with a torn hamstring, SportsCentre reports.

After Young's injury kept him out of a preseason game, it's been disclosed that the quarterback's torn hamstring will keep him out for a significant amount of time. Young had been battling Bryan Bennett and Brandon Bridge for a roster spot, so it looks like the competition is down to two guys until Young is fully recovered.

Young (hamstring) was not spotted at camp on Wednesday and will not play in Saturday's preseason game, Rod Pedersen of 620 CKRM reports.

Young suffered a hamstring injury, which has only hurt his chances of beating out Bryan Bennett and Brandon Bridge for a spot on the roster. More information about his injury will likely come out later in the week.

Young (hamstring) is questionable for Saturday's preseason game against Winnipeg, Lee Jones of CTV Regina reports.

It was already going to be difficult enough to beat out Bryan Bennett and Brandon Bridge for a quarterback spot, but if Young is unable to go Saturday, it'll be even more difficult. We'll keep you updated as new information becomes available.
